Probably painted by a Dominican to maintain the collective memory of the order, the scene shows
Dominicans venerating the Trinity. Dominic, recognizable by the star on his habit, is surrounded
surrounded by his brothers, just as Christ was surrounded by the apostles. The image bears witness to the desire to return
the primitive community championed by St. Catherine of Siena and the "Observance" branch.
