Gilt bronze lion clock, the enamelled dial encircled by a knotted laurel wreath and surmounted by a vase, the rectangular base decorated with a laurel garland resting on a marble base. The dial and movement are signed Buzot in Paris. Late 18th, early 19th century H. 33.5 - W. 20 - D. 12.5 cm (With keys, two bronze elements missing from the base, chip to the enamel on the dial) Model attributed to François VION, circa 1770. The original drawing is preserved in the Bibliothèque de l'Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art, collections Jacques Doucet, under number 22 (see illustration) of the Recueil de desseins. Clock models, years 1755-1780 Watchmaker Buzot received his master's diploma on May 21, 1770.
