FRANCQUART (Jacques) Pompe funèbre du très pieux & très puissant Prince Albert, archiduc d'Autriche, duc de Bourgogne, de Brabant ... dessinée par Francquart et gravée par Corneille Galle - Bruxelles, Jean Léonard, 1729 - in-fol.: 1 f.; 36 pp. ; frontispice grav. et 67 pl. double page, dont 2 depl. - old brown calf, spine ribbed, mottled edges. (small scattered russet spots in the text, very clean plates, leather loss at tail cap and without title-piece). "... [the] plates represent[ent] the chapelle ardente erected in the nave of Sainte Gudule de Bruxelles, and all the costumes of the characters who appeared in this magnificent ceremony". The work appeared in 1623. Some of the copies published in 1729 have an additional plate, "lit de parade de l'infante Isabelle", engraved in 1634 and unnumbered, which is placed in our copy between pl. 44 and 46, as pl. 45 does not exist. The accompanying essay is by Hendrik van de Putte (1574-1646), known in Latin as Erycius Puteanus, historiographer to the King of Spain. Printed on two columns in French, Latin, Spanish and Flemish.
