Thomas SERGENT (1830-1890) Large oval glazed ceramic dish in the Bernard de Palissy style with high relief decoration of shells, lobster, fish, crayfish, water snake, crabs, frogs and leaves. Signed on the back. 8 x 64 x 44 cm (Missing five pastes and a small antenna on the lobster, a fin on a fish, missing a crab claw, small chip on fish fins, one lobster paste to be glued back. Firing crack in the bottom of the dish (22 cm).
