FRANCE - Honorary medal of the 80 parliamentarians who refused full powers to Marshal Pétain on July 10, 1940, engraved by L Muller. Obverse: profile of Athena, helmeted, armed and protected by a shield marked "République française". Reverse in exergue "In Tyrannidem surrexerunt hostie contempto" (They stood up in defiance of the enemy, against tyranny), and in the center "Le X juillet MCMCL quatre-vingt républicains par leur vote contre la dictature affirmèrent leur volonté de résistance leur amour de la liberté et leur foi dans la patrie invaincue MCMXLV".
